Photoassisted Oxidation of Sulfides Catalyzed by Artificial Metalloenzymes Using Water as an Oxygen Source "2279
The Mn(TpCPP)-Xln10A artificial metalloenzyme, obtained by non-covalent insertion of Mn(III)-meso-tetrakis(p-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin [Mn(TpCPP), 1-Mn] into xylanase 10A from Streptomyces lividans (Xln10A) as a host protein, was found able to catalyze the selective photo-induced oxidation of organic substrates in the presence of [Ru(bpy)3] as a photosensitizer and [Co(NH3)5Cl] as a sacrificial e...
متن کاملGold nanocluster-catalyzed selective oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide.
Thiolate-protected gold nanoclusters are explored for catalytic application in the selective oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide by PhIO. The TiO(2)-supported Au(25)(SR)(18) nanocluster catalysts give rise to high catalytic activity (e.g.∼97% conv. of Ph-S-CH(3) and ∼92% selectivity for Ph-S(=O)-CH(3) sulfoxide) and show excellent recyclability in the sulfoxidation process.
متن کاملCatalyst design in oxidation chemistry; from KMnO4 to artificial metalloenzymes.
Oxidation reactions are an important part of the synthetic organic chemist's toolkit and continued advancements have, in many cases, resulted in high yields and selectivities. This review aims to give an overview of the current state-of-the-art in oxygenation reactions using both chemical and enzymatic processes, the design principles applied to date and a possible future in the direction of hy...
متن کاملArtificial metalloenzymes for enantioselective catalysis.
Artificial metalloenzymes have emerged over the last decades as an attractive approach towards combining homogeneous catalysis and biocatalysis. A wide variety of catalytic transformations have been established by artificial metalloenzymes, thus establishing proof of concept. The field is now slowly transforming to take on new challenges. These include novel designs, novel catalytic reactions, ...
متن کاملModeling aspects of mechanisms for reactions catalyzed by metalloenzymes
Different models to treat metal-catalyzed enzyme reactions are investigated. The test case chosen is the recently suggested full catalytic cycle of manganese catalase including eight different steps. This cycle contains O—O and O—H activations, as well as electron transfer steps and redox active reactions, and is therefore believed to be representative of many similar systems. Questions concern...
